About Porcelain Jewellery and Anniversary Gifts

What is porcelain jewellery and why does it make a meaningful gift for a wife?

Every FARPHORIA porcelain piece is individually handmade in London, without any molds or making in batches, with natural variations that make it genuinely unique.

Finished with hand-applied 24K gold or platinum lustre, it is a thoughtful choice for anyone searching for a unique luxury gift for his wife, a romantic anniversary present or an alternative to conventional jewellery.

Is porcelain jewellery fragile?

Porcelain jewellery is much stronger than its delicate appearance suggests. Once fired at approximately 1260°C, porcelain becomes a hard, vitrified ceramic material.

Porcelain hardness and ceramic structure are comparable to tooth enamel. Like teeth, it is strong in everyday use but may chip or break following a hard impact.

Solid porcelain designs are particularly robust, while hollow pieces created from real flowers require more delicate handling.

Is porcelain jewellery durable enough for everyday wear?

Yes. FARPHORIA porcelain jewellery can be worn regularly when treated with the same care as fine jewellery. Avoid dropping it onto stone, concrete or tiled floors, and remove it before swimming, showering, exercising or sleeping.

The high-fired porcelain and glaze will not fade or discolour with time. Hand-applied gold and platinum details should be protected from abrasive cleaners and repeated friction.

Why is porcelain a meaningful gift for an 18th wedding anniversary?

Porcelain is the traditional symbol of the 18th wedding anniversary. It begins as a soft material before being transformed by intense heat into something strong, refined and enduring—beautifully reflecting a marriage shaped and strengthened over eighteen years. Like porcelain, marriage is eternal with proper care but very fragile when neglected.

FARPHORIA porcelain jewellery offers a contemporary interpretation of this tradition: a unique porcelain anniversary gift your wife can wear and treasure.

What is the difference between an 18th and a 20th wedding anniversary gift?

Porcelain is commonly associated with the 18th wedding anniversary, while bone china is the traditional gift for the 20th wedding anniversary.

An 18th anniversary porcelain gift celebrates transformation and strength. Bone china for the 20th anniversary is whiter and thiner, and represents the beauty, value and care associated with a marriage lasting two decades.

Is bone china the traditional gift for a 20th wedding anniversary?

Bone china is the traditional symbol of the 20th wedding anniversary and one distinguished type of china.

Traditional bone china contains china clay, china stone and bone ash, giving it whiteness, translucency and strength. FARPHORIA jewellery is made from high-fired porcelain rather than bone china, making it especially relevant to the 18th porcelain anniversary.

Is FARPHORIA porcelain jewellery hypoallergenic?

Porcelain itself is naturally inert and nickel-free. Metal fittings vary between designs and may include sterling silver, gold-filled components or other precious-metal finishes and alloys.

If your wife has a known metal allergy, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm the materials used in your chosen piece.

Will the porcelain jewellery I give my wife be completely unique?

Yes. Every FARPHORIA creation is individually handmade, so no two pieces have exactly the same shape, texture, glaze or gold detailing.

Some designs are sculpted by hand, while others are made using real flowers dipped in liquid porcelain. The flower burns away during firing, leaving its delicate form preserved as a hollow porcelain shell.

Will my jewellery look exactly like the photographs online?

Your piece will retain the design, colour palette and character shown online, but subtle handmade variations are part of its beauty. Shape, glaze movement, natural texture and gold or platinum detailing may differ slightly.

Colours may also vary depending on lighting and screen settings.

What if my wife does not like the colour, size or style I choose?

As every piece is handmade, an exact replacement may not always be possible but we will help you find an alternative with a similar character, colour or design. No worries—we guarantee to make it right. Just contact us directly. We’re very experienced in handling gift exchanges or adjustments and our concierge-level customer service ensures a smooth resolution. Your satisfaction is our priority.

What warranty comes with FARPHORIA porcelain jewellery?

Every FARPHORIA piece includes a one-year warranty. If your jewellery is accidentally damaged during this period, we will repair it free of charge whenever a repair is technically possible.

Because every piece is unique, severely damaged designs may not be reproducible exactly, but we will always do our best to provide an appropriate solution.

Can I return an unused porcelain jewellery gift?

Yes. Unused jewellery may be returned within 14 days of delivery, subject to our Returns Policy. Email farphoria@outlook.com before returning the order so we can provide instructions.

A £5 return fee applies. Bespoke, personalised and commissioned pieces may not be eligible for return unless faulty. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

What should I do if my porcelain jewellery arrives damaged?

Email farphoria@outlook.com as soon as possible with your order number and photographs of the jewellery and packaging.

We will assess the damage promptly and arrange an appropriate repair, replacement or refund. Please retain all packaging until the matter has been resolved.

I saw a FARPHORIA piece on Instagram but cannot find it online. Can I still order it?

Possibly. As FARPHORIA jewellery is one of a kind, it may already have sold or may not yet have been added to the website.

Email us with a screenshot or description. We may be able to suggest a similar available piece or create a variation as a bespoke commission.

How long does a FARPHORIA order take to arrive?

Available pieces are dispatched according to the timeframe shown on their product pages or here. Made-to-order and bespoke jewellery normally requires two to four weeks because every piece must be handmade, dried and fired several times.

If you need an 18th wedding anniversary gift by a particular date, contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability and delivery timing.

Does FARPHORIA porcelain jewellery come gift-wrapped?

Yes. Every order is presented in elegant FARPHORIA branded packaging, ready to give as an anniversary, birthday or romantic gift. You may opt in for our little surprise too!

If the order is being sent directly to your wife, you may request a personal gift message. Pricing information is not included inside gift parcels.

How should porcelain jewellery be cleaned?

Clean it gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. If necessary, use lukewarm water and a small amount of mild soap, then dry carefully.

Do not use a dishwasher, abrasive cleaner, metal polish, harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaning equipment, as these may damage the gold or platinum detailing and metal fittings.

Can I commission a matching porcelain jewellery set for my wife?

Yes. FARPHORIA accepts selected commissions for matching earrings, necklaces, rings, brooches and other special designs.

A bespoke set can be inspired by your wife’s favourite colour, flower or jewellery style, or by the story behind your anniversary. Please contact us early to discuss your idea, budget and required date.

Can I see FARPHORIA jewellery in person before choosing a gift?

FARPHORIA does not currently have a permanent retail shop but private studio appointments can be arranged in Elephant & Castle, London.

A studio visit allows you to compare colours and receive personal help choosing the right porcelain anniversary gift for your wife. Visits are by appointment only.
