Porcelain | Real paulownia tree flower or Jerusalem sage | 24K gold | Gold-filled earwires | Handmade in London
The Real Paulownia and Jerusalem Sage Porcelain Earrings by FARPHORIA are one-of-a-kind pieces of botanical jewellery created from genuine flowers collected in London and transformed into porcelain.
Just as no two flowers in nature are ever identical, every pair has its own sculptural shape, natural markings and delicate irregularities. This makes these earrings a genuinely unusual gift for your loved one—something beautiful that nobody else can own and that cannot be reproduced, even by the artist.
Each flower is carefully gathered, naturally dried and dipped in a bespoke liquid porcelain formula developed by FARPHORIA founder and Royal College of Art artist Xenia Busalova. During a technically demanding series of kiln firings, the original plant burns away completely, leaving only a hollow porcelain shell that preserves the flower’s fleeting natural form.
The paulownia tree blossoms retain their softly fluted, bell-like silhouettes, while the Jerusalem sage flowers create beautifully rounded organic forms. Depending on the selected design, the porcelain is finished in luminous white, expressive cobalt blue or just matte fired porcelain (for Jerusalem Sage) individually applied 24K gold details. The two earrings belong together while preserving the natural differences of the original flowers.
Romantic, meaningful and impossible to replicate, these real flower porcelain earrings make an exceptional handmade gift for a wife who loves unusual jewellery, contemporary art and nature-inspired design. They are especially meaningful as a unique 18th wedding anniversary gift for her, because porcelain is the traditional material associated with eighteen years of marriage.
These botanical earrings are also a distinctive birthday gift, Valentine’s Day gift or romantic surprise for the woman who already has everything. More lasting than a bouquet and far more personal than mass-produced jewellery, they preserve the beauty of a real flower as a miniature wearable artwork. Only one pair of each design has been made.
